GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the guidance of the Aquatic Director, Aquatic Staff Associate or Aquatic Coordinator, a Swim Instructor 
teaches swimming lessons.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must be 16 years of age to teach and must obtain certification in CPR, First Aid, Lifeguarding or 
YASA, Fundamentals of Teaching YMCA Swim Lesson and either YMCA Swim Lessons for Youth and Adult or YMCA Swim 
Lessons for Preschool or Water Safety Instruction within 90 days of employment.  The incumbent must attend New 
Staff Orientation within 30 days of employment and possess values consistent with the mission of the YMCA. 

WAGE RANGE:  $7.15 - $8.90
GRADE: 3
