GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under the guidance of Aquatics Director, the Lifeguard is responsible to uphold the rules and guidelines of the 
pool to ensure the safest environment for all members at the Eastside Branch.  

QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must be 16 years of age or older and have a current YMCA Lifeguarding or Red Cross Lifeguarding 
certification.  Must have and maintain CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid, AED, and Oxygen 
Administration certifications.  Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with the YMCA of Greater 
Rochester standards.  The candidate must be able to make independent decisions that adhere to the purpose, 
mission, and goals of the YMCA.  The candidate must be able to function as a member of the total staff team in 
developing community relations, bringing maturity, responsibility and positive values to the position, as well 
as being able to interpret YMCA programs to the public.
  
SALARY RANGE: 	$7.15 - $8.00 per hour 
GRADE: 		4
